What is the Gavita Pro 750w Lamp used for?
The Gavita Pro 750w Lamp are professional horticultural bulbs that are far more superior in comparison to standard HPS lamps. A 400v HPS lamp is far more efficient than a standard HPS lamp. Both lamps will consume 750 watts, costing exactly the same to run. However, this lamp runs at a higher voltage and lower current, producing more light for the same power consumption. In fact, these lamps will give at least a 10% boost to yields compared to standard HPS lamps.
Furthermore, these lamps run brighter and cooler and produce a far whiter light which encourages healthy plant growth without the risk of heat damage. They work through a UK mains power lead, which when used alongside a ballast converts the mains electricity to drive this special double ended lamp.
Where can the Gavita Pro 750w lamp be used?
The Gavita Pro 750w Lamp is for use alongside the Gavita Reflector, as it maintains its efficiency and light output for much longer. These lamps are not interchangeable with different ballasts. Therefore you should use a standard or digital 230v ballast.
How to use the Gavita Pro 750w Lamp
When using the Gavita Pro 750w be careful not grease the glass of the bulb. Start by positioning the lamp so that the two wires sit either side of the housing and move the sliders back into their inside position to secure it correctly in place. On one of the sides is a small square, this goes closest to the outer edge of your reflector. Once everything is securely fitted you can turn the power on.
