So you’ve decided what size Grow Tent you’re going to buy and now you’re ready to look at Grow Light Bulbs. However, as they’re so many different wattage to choose from, which wattage bulb should you buy for your size Grow Tent?
Below we’ll give you the ins and outs of each bulb wattage and tell you which is best for your Grow Tent.
150 Watt HPS Bulbs
Most 150w HPS bulbs are CFL bulbs which mean they have their own ballast built in. Furthermore, as they are only 150w, the bulbs produce no heat compared to other bulb sizes. However, these types of bulbs are the least efficient out of all wattages.

250 Watt HPS Bulbs
Just like the 150w bulbs, most 250w bulbs are CFL bulbs and come with a built in ballast, however, it is also easier to find 250w HPS bulbs that need a ballast.
